Joshua makes it 15 KOs in 15

British and Commonwealth champion boxer Anthony Joshua is now 15-0-0. Winning once again by KO.

Anthony Joshua increases his professional record to 15-0-0 with 15 wins by knockout, retaining his British and commonwealth heavyweight titles, following his victory over Dillan Whyte. Although putting up more of a fight than many predicted, Whyte was finally defeated by a big uppercut in the 7th round. And what a knockout it was, Whyte fell into the ropes appearing to be out cold! This was Anthony Joshua’s longest fight and he looked as though he dominated the score card for the first 5 rounds. Joshua is a very strong, aggressive fighter and did not disappoint; hitting Whyte with some big punches. The fight however was not always one sided and Whyte did returns some big shots and appeared to rock Joshua a couple of times. In the end, Joshua’s superior fitness and adaptability appeared to be what won him the fight.

In a time when the popularity of combat sports like MMA and K1 kickboxing are on the increase and franchises like the UFC, Bellator and Glory are picking up momentum, boxing has been deemed as “boring” by many viewers. This certainly cannot be said of tonight’s action packed bout.
