With Rafael Dos Anjos pulling out of UFC 196’s superfight. Speculation is building as to who Conor McGregor will fight. 

Rafael Dos Anjos has pulled out of the UFC 196 super-fight against Conor McGregor with a broken foot leaving fans disappointed. Although unavoidable given the circumstances, I have no doubt that McGregor will jump at the chance to use this against Dos Anjos in the build up for the inevitable future re-match up.

Vegas sees green white and orange as McGregor becomes UFC featherweight champion

The long anticipated UFC featherweight title fight between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo made history tonight.

Conor McGregor has made UFC history tonight, defeating Jose Aldo Jr. by KO in just 13 seconds. After months of build up, smack talk and insults, the most talked about UFC match-up ever finally happened! But for all of the build up it was McGregor’s second punch which ended the fight and saw him crowned UFC featherweight champion of the world. The shocking result came as Aldo charged forward throwing a wide hook, McGregor countered with a strong cross followed by a hammer fist to the grounded former champion to end the match. Shaun White takes gold in Dew Tour snowboard superpipe

The snowboarding legend Shaun White won the Dew Tour men’s super-pipe in style.

In an outcome that comes as very little surprise to viewers, the Dew Tour men’s snowboarding super-pipe has been won by Shaun White. As one of the most dominating athletes arguably in any sport, White has won all of the big snowboarding competitions and taken the sport to new levels by inventing new tricks. White has been competing on the professional scene since the age of 13, and was the first athlete to achieve a perfect score of 100.00 in a competition. The boarder has become a household name with both avid viewers of the sport and even viewers who have a fleeting interest in the Winter Olympics. White has won a winter X Games medal every year since 2002 and is the only competitor ever to win medals in both the summer and winter X games. Joshua makes it 15 KOs in 15

British and Commonwealth champion boxer Anthony Joshua is now 15-0-0. Winning once again by KO.

Anthony Joshua increases his professional record to 15-0-0 with 15 wins by knockout, retaining his British and commonwealth heavyweight titles, following his victory over Dillan Whyte. Although putting up more of a fight than many predicted, Whyte was finally defeated by a big uppercut in the 7th round. And what a knockout it was, Whyte fell into the ropes appearing to be out cold! This was Anthony Joshua’s longest fight and he looked as though he dominated the score card for the first 5 rounds. Joshua is a very strong, aggressive fighter and did not disappoint; hitting Whyte with some big punches. The fight however was not always one sided and Whyte did returns some big shots and appeared to rock Joshua a couple of times. Anna Gasser spins to victory in women’s slopestyle

Gasser was a cut above the rest in the Dew Tour’s Women’s slopestyle competition.

The 2015/16 snowboard season has begun in style with the (Mountain) Dew tour in Breckenridge Colorado. Kicking things off was the Women’s slopestyle competition, with a final six comprising of; Spencer O’Brien, Hailey Langland, Anna Gasser, Cheryl Maas, Katie Ormerod, Klaudia Medlova and Anna Gasser. The roster for the final was strong, with all competitors putting in strong performances and no competitor achieving a score lower than 73.60. The top three justified their places on the podium, achieving scores greater than 85, however Anna Gasser was a cut above the rest with a mighty score of 91.20. The 24 year old Austrian won her first ever major competition putting on a master class in spinning tricks, stomping a frontside 540 , a cab 540, a switchback 180 and a frontside 720 to finish her strong run a full 4.80 points ahead of Spencer O’Brien in second. Hailey Langland who finished top in the semi-finals with a score of 93.60 finished in third.

Tyson Fury stripped of IBF title

Tyson Fury is stripped of IBF title belt after a breach in contract allowing him a rematch with former champion Wladamir Klitschkov

In a shock result, Tyson Fury beat heavyweight boxing champion Wladamir Klitschko winning the IBF, WBO, WBF heavyweight and WBA super heavyweight world titles. Fury won the match on a judge’s decision, beating the former champion: 116-111, 115-112 and 115-112. The newly crowned champion is now 25 wins for 0 losses with 18 wins by knockout.
